NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help to find a woman who may have critical information about an Armed Robbery.

The crime took place on July 20, 2015 around 11:15 p.m., in the 300 block of South Diamond Street.

According to police, the victim was walking in the area when an unidentified man walked up to her, pointed a handgun in her direction, and demanded her purse. Police say the suspect grabbed the victim's purse and ran away.

The suspect is described as a thin black man, approximately 5'8" tall, in his mid-twenties. He was wearing a dark shirt, dark cargo shorts, and a baseball cap.

That same night, police say an unknown black woman tried to use a credit card stolen from the purse at a local store. The woman is not a suspect in the armed robbery, just a person that detectives would like to speak to, who may have critical information about the armed robbery.

Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.

You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward but you must contact Crimestoppers directly with your information.
