NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police have arrested and 18-year-old man in connection with a daytime shootout at the edge of the French Quarter.

Raheem Brown, who lives in the 4500 block of Bonita Drive, was booked with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal use of a weapon and illegal carrying of a weapon.

On July 16, surveillance video captured what appeared to be a young man or teen exchanging gunfire with someone in a car at the intersection of Bienville and Basin streets. When officers arrived, they found several bullet casings on the ground and a black Nissan Altima with multiple bullet holes not far away in the 100 block of North Roman Street.

On Friday NOPD Chief Michael Harrison said Brown has an arrest record and is well-known to officers in the First District.

Harrison said the person Brown was exchanging gunfire with is still being sought.
