Walter Reed, the former District Attorney for St. Tammany and Washington parishes, now faces state ethics charges.
Reed allegedly committed fraud by taking payments from St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
Earlier this month, the Louisiana Board of Ethics filed charged against Reed. The board said Reed broke the law by getting compensated for providing legal services to the hospital when legal services were part of his duties as district attorney.
Reed is under federal investigation involving campaign spending and legal representation of the hospital, due in part to out Louisiana Purchased investigative series with Nola.com/The Times Picayune.
