NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Saints released another defensive starter from last season, terminating Brodrick Bunkley's contract after he failed a physical.
The big nose tackle spent the past three seasons in New Orleans. He played in 38 games but had limited production with just 53 tackles and 2.5 sacks since 2012. Late last fall, Bunkley was placed on injured reserve with a quad injury.
Former defensive starters LB Junior Galette, LB Curtis Lofton and CB Corey White had also been released earlier in the offseason. Cornerback Patrick Robinson was not retained either after the Saints finished 31st in total defense last fall.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Marques Colston, safety Jairus Byrd and defensive tackle Glenn Foster will start training camp on the physically unable to perform list. However, they will be able to practice as soon as they are healthy and can come off the PUP list at any time.
