Man sought in Lower 9th Ward auto theft

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD has issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with an auto theft in the Lower Ninth Ward.

Andre Wilson, 20, faces one count of possession of stolen property. The theft occurred July 7 near the intersection of Tricou and Chartres streets.

Around 7 a.m., the victim told detectives he parked his 2001 Honda Accord at the intersection because it was having mechanical problems. He said when he returned the next day to have the car towed, it was gone.

During the course of the investigation, detectives said they learned that Wilson sold the Honda to Southern Scrap on Florida Avenue.
