NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police released a surveillance picture of a man they say held up a woman at gun point, stole her purse, then used one of her credit cards to buy gas.

The armed robbery happened early Sunday morning in the 8200 block of Sycamore Street in the Carrollton area.

Police say around 12:15 a.m., a man walked up to a 21-year-old woman, pointed a gun at her, then grabbed her purse containing credit cards and her iPhone.

Minutes later, police say the man used one of the victim's credit cards at the Mardi Gras Truck Stop on Elysian Fields Ave. to buy gas.

If you recognize the man in the surveillance picture or the vehicle used in the incident, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
