NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A New Orleans police officer opened fire at a Central City home after a suspect inside allegedly pulled a gun on officers.
The incident happened around 10 p.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Third Street, just across the street from A.L. Davis Park.
Officers say they were attempting to serve a search warrant when an occupant inside the residence brandished a gun and pointed it at officers. An officer fired several shots, but did not hit anyone.
Two individuals were taken into custody following the incident, police say. Their names have not been released.
The investigation is still in the preliminary stages. Members of the Public Integrity Bureau and the Independent Police Monitor's Office are looking into the incident.
