A dispute over five-dollars led to a shooting in the Hollygrove neighborhood Thursday night, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Bryant Slaughter, 44, is wanted for attempted murder following the incident.

The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday in the 8900 block of Forshey Street, where a man was found shot in the stomach.

Officers say that the victim was sitting in his vehicle when Slaughter approached on a bicycle. He inquired the victim about five-dollars that was owed to him, according to New Orleans police.

When the victim advised the suspect that he would pay the following day, police say Slaughter shot the victim in the abdomen. The suspect fled the scene.
