NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Bourbon Street was the scene of three violent crimes over the weekend, according to initial reports from the New Orleans Police Department.

The three separate incidents happened on Saturday and Sunday.

The first was reported around 12:05 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of Bourbon Street. Officers say the victim, a 20-year-old man, was approached by two unknown men who asked him if he wanted to buy drugs. The victim said no, according to police, and an argument ensued that turned violent. During the fight, the suspects stabbed the victim twice and then ran down St. Anne Street towards Dauphine, according to police.

Several hours later, a cutting incident was reported in the 200 block of Bourbon Street. The incident was reported near the intersection of Bienville Street around 6:15 a.m. Saturday. Officers say that the victim and another motorist were involved in a verbal altercation, resulting in the suspect shattering the suspect’s rear windshield. Police say a suspect exited their vehicle, throwing a broken bottle at the victim. The victim was cut in several places and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A shooting was reported Sunday morning near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Esplanade Ave. The shooting happened around 6 a.m, according to initial police reports. The victim, a 30-year-old man, was approached by several men who demanded his property. One of the suspects fired at the victim before fleeing the scene. He is listed in stable condition.
