Man, 50, arrested in Terrebonne Parish death investigation

TERREBONNE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A Pointe-aux-Chenes man faces obstruction of justice charges in connection with a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office death investigation.

A caller reported finding the body around 6 p.m. Saturday at an apartment in the 100 block of Zachary Court. The apartment was leased to 50-year-old Paul Dupre. The caller, a relative of Dupre's, reportedly entered the residence after not hearing from Dupre in several days.

Officers say they found the nude body of a female wrapped in a sheet on a couch in the living room of the apartment.

Deputies say they believe Dupre found the body inside of his apartment. He's accused of moving the victim's body, covering it and further altering the scene, according to deputies.

Dupre turned himself in to detectives on Sunday evening. He was arrested on one count of obstruction of justice and booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.

An autopsy will be performed on the victim Monday. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.
