NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A good day from the Greenbrier where the weather continues to be amazing and the Saints' practices continue to speed by.

There was a sight for sore eyes today with cornerback Brian Dixon off the non-football injury list and back to work for his first training camp workout. Many of these workouts have been scheduled to go from 8:50 AM until 11:40 AM but head coach Sean Payton has cut them short every day because of the weather, more specifically, the cooler temperatures have allowed the team to get through the periods quicker. Monday was no different, which was very high-spirited with plenty of contact. The guys have been in pads and full-go since Saturday and it's been full speed ahead for the players needing to impress.

Payton was pleased with the effort leading into the team's first day off from practice. "I thought the work this morning was pretty good," Payton said. "These guys will be off tomorrow and that was one of the concerns we had. Yesterday we got good work and today we got good work in the team drill. The notes from a year ago on this practice weren't real good so it was kind of a focal point for us as a staff last night but hey, these guys handled it well."

In terms of physical play, Payton said there's a fine line between being physical and going overboard.

Today's work was much lighter between the Saints and Chargers was much lighter. They wore no pads only shells and helmets, and they only practiced two hours instead of two and a half like Thursday. While they certainly weren't perfect, overall the Saints had much better execution today than Thursday.  "I thought overall it was a little bit crisper today than yesterday.
