NOPD releases composite sketch in Marigny armed robbery, shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a woman in the Marigny.

The robbery occurred Sunday just before 9 p.m. in the 2500 block of Decatur Street.

Police said a 46-year-old woman was walking to her car when she was approached by a man who produced a pellet gun and demanded her purse. The victim said after she complied, the man shot her in the shoulder and fled the area in an older model dark BMW sedan that was waiting nearby.

The man is described being in his 20s with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a red shirt.
