HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

Terrebonne Parish sheriff's deputies arrested a 33-year-old woman for alleged leaving her young child in a hot car.

Officers responded to a call on Saturday around 12:25 p.m. in the 1600 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard in Houma.

When they arrived at the Auto Spa, investigators discovered the two-year-old boy walking around a parking lot without supervision. He was in the vehicle earlier.

Sumer Lynn Boudloche, the child's mother, was located in a restroom inside of the business. She said she left the child inside of the vehicle because he was sleeping.

Deputies said Boudloche was slurring when she spoke to officers and appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic.

The child was released into the custody of a grandparent.

Boudloche was arrested for child desertion and transported to the parish jail.

She was released from jail on Sunday after posting a $10,000 bond.
