NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - We ended up with just enough showers across the south shore to help keep high temperatures in check on Wednesday afternoon.
While a few showers remain in the forecast for Thursday, we will not see the same coverage and that means hotter temperatures across most of the area.
Look for highs to approach the mid to upper 90s once again. As our surface and upper highs come together once again we can expect dry and consequently very hot conditions as we head into the weekend.
It is likely we will see heat advisories for Saturday and Sunday as highs will reach the upper 90s and heat indices will jump into the 105-110 range.
Widespread rain will stay away through the start of next week. There is nothing of interest in the Atlantic tropics right now so hopefully it stays that way.
