Armed robbery suspect caught on video using victim's credit card

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted for an armed robbery July 26 in the Carrollton area.

At about 12:15 a.m., the 21-year-old victim was walking in the 8200 block of Sycamore Street when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and robbed her of her purse containing her credit cards and iPhone.  He then fled the scene.

Minutes later, the man used the victim's credit card to buy gas at the Mardi Gras Truck Stop in the 2400 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.

The suspect was described as a black male with a dark complexion, about 5'8" tall, wearing dark clothing and a black cap. The suspect was captured on video surveillance video. Mobile users can see it here:
