NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A 51-year-old man has been named as a suspect in an Uptown school burglary. He is also a person of interest in the armed robbery of a Magazine Street sno-ball stand, according to police.

New Orleans police are searching for 51-year-old Michael Gambino.

Gambino allegedly burglarized the St. Georges School, located in the 900 block of Napoleon Avenue, on July 2.

Police say Gambino was seen on the school’s surveillance video system jumping the school’s fence and then entering the building.  He was then seen walking up the inner stairs of the school and then fleeing with stolen computer equipment, officers say.

Police say he is also a person of interest in a Wednesday evening armed robbery at a Magazine Street sno-ball stand. SnoWizard, located in the 4000 block of Magazine Street, was robbed around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Video surveillance from the sno-ball stand shows a man approach the business with a pistol as he shoves the gun through the window and into the manager’s face. He fled the scene with a tip jar.

Anyone with information on Gambino’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
