Man arrested in 4 Uptown-area home burglaries

A 52 -year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with several burglaries in the Uptown area.

Pernell Knott was captured in the 2000 block of Josephine Street after a brief foot chase with officers, according to an NOPD news release.   

Detectives said they were able to connect Knott to the following burglaries: 

On July 23, 2015, around 11:45 a.m., Knott is believed to have burglarized a home in the 3900 block of Annunciation Street.

On July 24, 2015, around 12:30 p.m., Knott is believed to have burglarized a home in the 2300 block of Baronne Street. 

On July 24, 2015, around 7:30 p.m., Knott is believed to have burglarized a home in the 2100 block of Clara Street. 

On July 29, 2015, around 12:30 p.m., Knott is believed to have burglarized a double side home in the 3900 block of Annunciation Street. 

During the course of the investigation, detectives were able to recover most of the stolen property from Knott’s home. 

Knott was booked into Central Lock-up on counts of simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen things and criminal trespassing. 

This was a joint operation involving officers from the Second District and Sixth District.
