NOPD: Central City robbery suspect is armed and dangerous

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - A man is being sought for armed robbery after police say he struck up a conversation with a man on a Central City corner and then stole the victim's property.

The incident happened Sunday near the intersection of Terpsichore Street and Reverend John C. Raphael Jr. Way. Police said 26-year-old old Narkee Hunter approached the 41-year-old victim at about 1:40 p.m. As Hunter was talking with him, Hunter allegedly produced a gun and demanded the victim's property. The victim complied, and Hunter fled the area on foot.

Police said citizen tips led to them to Hunter as a suspect. Once caught, Hunter will be booked with one count of armed robbery. Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Sixth District Detective Walter Edmund is in charge of the investigation and can be reached at (504) 658-6020.
