Teenager arrested after allegedly stealing $300 at gunpoint

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A 17-year-old girl made off with $300 in cash after pulling a handgun on a driver in Gentilly according to police.

A 32-year-old woman was sitting in her car in the 3400 block of Franklin Avenue around 6:09 p.m. on Aug. 8, according to NOPD, when a 17-year-old girl approached her and put a handgun to her face. The alleged attacker demanded money and the victim complied, giving her about $300 in cash, then drove away from the scene.

The victim then called police and gave them the 17-year-old robber's license plate number. Police located the teenager and arrested her shortly after.

The alleged perpetrator's name has not been released.
