NOPD: Trio wanted for a Marigny armed robbery

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans Police are on the lookout for three men wanted in an armed robbery in the Marigny. The incident happened Friday around 11:45 p.m. at an apartment on Dauphine Street near St. Roch Avenue.

The victim, a 54-year-old musician, told FOX 8 that he was walking home from a nearby bar when the men attacked him from behind just outside his front door.

"They were outside," the victim said. "They got me outside and pushed me in, so I took a swing at one of them, you know. I kind a got a glimpse of one of them but I didn't really see the others. There were three of them you know. They put me on the floor, tied me up told me they would kill me."

The victim says the men who attacked him sounded young. Police say the men ransacked the home while holding the victim at gunpoint. They made off with the victim's ID, credit cards, cell phone, TV, speaker system and drove off in his car.

The musician has rented the apartment for the past six years and had plans to buy a house in New Orleans.

"I ain't so sure know," the man said. "And I love this city. All my dreams have come true in the city."

Police say that the suspects' car was found nearby, but the victim's car has not been recovered.
