*****EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING THROUGH MONDAY PM******
Strong high pressure in the middle and upper levels and at the surface are combining to keep the area in a high heat situation. Excessive heat warnings, that are in effect through Monday at 7:00 pm, indicate that heat index values will approach the 115-degree mark in some areas.
Sunday, most locations on the north shore are showing actual highs at or near 100. Some clouds lingered through the morning, south, helping keep temperatures a degree or two less hot, but still in the upper 90's with heat indices near 110 or better.
Any rain that does develop has the potential to be a strong storm. It takes a strong updraft to break through the sinking air settled overhead. Be prepared for any isolated storm to produce lightning, heavy down pours and gusty winds much like Saturday night.
