Shooting in Desire neighborhood caught on surveillance

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The NOPD is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating two suspects and their vehicle sought in connection with a July 26 shooting in the Desire neighborhood.

The incident took place just after 6:30 p.m. at Piety and Treasure streets.

Police said the suspects approached the intersection in a black, older-model Acura sedan with Louisiana plates. The passenger then exited the vehicle with a high-caliber assault rifle and fired several shots into a large crowd, striking a 33-year-old man multiple times. The suspect then fled down Treasure Street.

The victim is hospitalized in critical condition.
