The FOX 8 Defenders have learned that the subject of a more than year-long FOX 8 Defenders investigation still hasn't paid a $2,000 fine for alleged violations we exposed. We've also learned that the Louisiana Public Service Commission, which regulates limos, found guilty AAA Louisiana Limo, X Investments and Royal Dealerships, Inc., which advertises as Louisiana Limousine, Inc. because the Marrero company isn't registered to operate in the state.
"These people that he (limo owner) does actually pick up and they get on his buses, you know, they may be in danger," explained one of the many consumers we interviewed in 2014.
Several local brides testified at a PSC administrative law hearing on bad dealings with Louisiana Limousine, dealings the FOX 8 Defenders first exposed in May of 2014. They include a no show on a bride's wedding day and on another occasion, showing up in a school bus to transport a wedding party instead of the white limousine bus one bride reserved and paid for. They agree what may be more frightening, because it's not registered with the state, vehicles aren't getting annual inspections on things like tires and emergency exits.
Since AAA Louisiana Limo hasn't paid its fine, the PSC filed a petition in 24th Judicial District Court to enforce the fine. The judgment also ordered the company to pay legal interest on it.
