Franklin: Hot and dry, but relief in sight

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Friday will be another mostly dry and hot afternoon to wrap up the work week. But there finally is some rain in sight.

The upper high which kept us dry and stiflingly hot has pushed west and will allow for an upper disturbance to arrive over the weekend. This should trigger about 20 percent coverage on Saturday and 50 percent on Sunday.

High temperatures will be kept in check - around 90 degrees on Sunday - with many locations cooling even more thanks to the rain.

Daily afternoon shower chances return for next week.
