Murder suspect accidentally released from St. Tammany jail

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

A murder suspect is back in jail tonight after he was accidentally released this morning (Aug. 14).

Lasean Williams of Washington Parish was let out of the St. Tammany Parish Jail after a judge reduced his sentence for a drug charge.

However, on Friday afternoon, the district attorney's office told the sheriff's office that Williams was also jailed for his alleged connection to a murder in Washington Parish, and that the reduced sentence didn't apply to hat case.

Deputies tracked Williams down around 3:30 p.m. and he was taken back to the St. Tammany jail.

The circumstances surrounding his release are under review.
