Saturday turned out to be a pretty spectacular day with a few passing showers that helped moderate temperatures. The high at Louis Armstrong International topped out at 93 degrees breaking our streak of nine days with highs at 95 or above.
Sunday will be an even more dramatic difference as a trough of low pressure moves across the area. Expect more showers and some thunderstorms throughout the day. The additional rainfall and cloud cover will help keep temperatures down with highs staying in the upper 80s for most areas.
The rainy pattern will take over for next week as we get the eastern high to settle in across the area. We will see several disturbances swing through and plenty of Gulf moisture to allow rain chances to stay high. The marine forecast is relatively calm and Atlantic tropics remain quiet.
