NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The season's fourth named storm has formed way out in the Atlantic. Danny is expected to slowly strengthen into the first hurricane by the end of the week.
Currently it's more than 1,000 miles east of the nearest land area and is not an immediate threat to anyone. Danny's slow westward motion will give us many days to follow him.
Locally, a stream of tropical moisture headed our way will provide us with above-normal clouds and showers for the next two to three days. Highs should be lower as the heavy downpours bring us welcome relief.
Hotter and drier conditions return over the weekend.
