Franklin: Rain chances remain high through the week
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -
The Gulf of Mexico is wide open to us. In other words, there is nothing to stop the stream of moisture and showers that have begun developing early this morning along the SW coast of Louisiana.
Rain chances will remain high, 50-60 percent, through the rest of the week.
This should help keep temperatures down or at least quickly cool locations which may reach 90 degrees. But Sunday and into next week, rain chances around 20 percent and more mid 90s are possible.
In the far tropical Atlantic, Danny continues to strengthen. However, forecasts currently keep the storm east of the Islands by early Monday. It’s way too soon to know what the future of Danny will be. We could potentially see other waves develop off Africa before Danny reaches the Lesser Antilles.
