Houma police make arrest in heroin investigation

HOUMA, LA (WVUE) -

A Houma man is in police custody after officers found several narcotics and a stolen weapon inside his home.

According to the Houma Police Department, officers received several reporters over the span of a few months that 25-year-old Cornell Robinson Jr. was selling heroin and other narcotics on a regular basis.

Police secured a search warrant for Robinson's residence in the 1200 block of Dunn Street. On Aug. 25, around 12:30 p.m., officers executed the warrant and found Robinson in possession of a stolen 9mm semi-automatic pistol, heroin, marijuana, codeine and $1,800 in cash, according to HPD.

Robinson was arrested for possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of codeine, possession of a stolen firearm by a convicted felon and various other narcotic violations. Robinson also had two outstanding warrants according to police.
