An unusually strong east coast trough has driven a cold front way down into the Gulf. Much drier and cooler air has replaced the brutal August heat of last week.
Record cold morning lows are likely again on the north shore for Thursday with all day sunshine making for a delightful afternoon of warm temps and low humidity.
Gradually over the weekend, the muggies return bringing a slight chance for a few showers.
Tropical Storm Erika is struggling dry air and wind shear as she approaches the Leeward Islands. All indications point to her going east of Florida and not into the Gulf.
