TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

A bicyclist was killed late Monday night after being stuck by a vehicle in Tangipahoa Parish.

The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday on the U.S. 190 Tangipahoa River Bridge.

A Ford Escape, driven by 24-year-old Kateria Edmon, was driving westbound on the bridge when her vehicle crashed into the rear of the bicycle, Louisiana State Police said.

The unidentified bicyclist was ejected from her bike. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said that the bicycle was not equipped with lamps or rear facing reflectors. Troopers add that she was also wearing dark clothing. Troopers are working on identifying the bicyclist. The victim has been described as a white female who appears to be in her mid to late 20s with long brown hair and brown eyes, troopers said. She has a red Egyptian Ankh tattoo on her left ankle.

Troopers said they do not suspect Edmon was impaired at the time of the crash. Blood samples were obtained from both drivers and will be sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Louisiana State Police Troop L at (985) 893-6235.

For tight end Ben Watson it's season #15. But he admitted he didn't know if he was going to get there. " I would say that at the end of last year I was very unsure if I was going to continue playing," Watson said." I knew that if I did play there only a very small number of places that I'd consider going.  One of those teams were the saints..because it was here where Watson had the best statistical season of his career in 2015... First-round draft pick Marcus Davenport missed almost three weeks of action during Saints training camp. This weekend, Davenport was back at practice, and all signs point to the rookie playing against the Chargers this Saturday. "The assignment, he'll know. He's been practicing in the meetings. It's just making sure he's 100 percent. But I anticipate that happening this week. I anticipate him being able to work this week and get some playing time," said Sean Payton. The Un...
