Man wanted for robbing Canal Street gas station

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for a man who took cash from a Canal Street gas station. The incident occurred Saturday August 22, 2015 around 11:28 a.m. in the 4700 block of Canal Street. 

Police say that the suspect entered the store and acted like he was making a purchase. As the clerk opened the register, the suspect reached into the drawer and took $30. The suspect then ran out of the store. 

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20's with a thin build. He is around 6-feet-2 tall, weighing around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap. 

Store surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect.

    The baby’s mother used heroin and prescription pain medication during her pregnancy, and the baby was born addicted to drugs, police say.
