Man falls victim to 2 holdups, 1 shooting within minutes

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A man was robbed on the West Bank. While seeking help following the robbery, the victim was held up again and shot.

The incident happened around 9 a.m. on July 20 in the 5600 block of Tullis Drive. The victim was inside of his vehicle and talking to an unknown man. That man robbed the victim of his cash, New Orleans police say.

The victim exited his vehicle to seek help. Officers say he alerted bystanders that he had been robbed when he fell victim to a second crime. One of the bystanders then produced a gun, demanded the victim’s property and shot him.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

On Thursday, New Orleans police named a person of interest in the case. Albert Lamartz, 52, may have information on the incident, police said.
