NOPD: 3 Uptown robberies cleared with Thursday arrest

The NOPD Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force on Thursday arrested a man wanted in three armed robberies

Officers located 24-year-old  Carlius Jarvis inside an apartment  in the 14700 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Detectives executed a search warrant and recovered a fully loaded .9mm pistol.

Detectives believe Jarvis is responsible for the following armed robberies:

On Sunday, April 26 at around 3:50 a.m. near the intersection of Birch and Short Street, a female was approached from behind and knocked to the ground. The suspect took the victim’s purse and fled the area on foot.

On the same morning around 4:05 a.m. in the 7300 block of Jeanette, two females were walking in the block when the suspect ran past them. Seconds later, he turned around and robbed the victims at gunpoint. The suspect struck one of the victims in the face with pistol and took her purse.

On Monday, May 11 around 12:15 p.m. in the 7600 block of Freret Street, a male was walking to his car when the suspect approached him and ordered him back inside his house at gunpoint. Once inside, the suspect took the victim’s car keys and debit card. The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle.

Jarvis was booked into Central Lock-up on three counts of armed robbery.
