Rene: Anticipating a hot Labor Day

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

An upper level high persists across the area and like yesterday, sunshine with late summer heat and humidity. There are a few isolated thundershowers around and will die off in the early evening. Tonight under mostly clear skies and light winds, it'll be warm and muggy.

Tomorrow, Labor Day Monday will be about the same with sun and clouds, hot and humid with isolated afternoon thundershowers.

Tonight: Any thundershowers ending in the early evening, then mainly clear, lows mid to upper 70s with light winds.

Monday: Partly cloudy & muggy, highs in the low to mid 90s, 20-30% coverage of afternoon thundershowers ending in early evening.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy & muggy, highs in the low to mid 90s, 30% coverage of afternoon thundershowers.

Wednesday-Thursday: More clouds and more showers and thundershowers around as a ‘cool' front approaches on Thursday. Lows: mid 70s, highs: upper 80s.
