New Orleans police arrested a man in Algiers after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend and another man, sending them to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police booked 29-year-old Luis Enrique Orobio Jr. with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and violation of a protective order.

Investigators said Monday at around 5:35 a.m., Orobio got into an argument with his girlfriend in the 3500 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Police said things escalated and Orobio got a knife and stabbed his girlfriend and a man who was asleep at the location multiple times.

Both victims were listed in critical condition.

Orobio fled the scene but later arrived at the hospital, where he was arrested.
