NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for two persons of interest in a robbery that occurred in the French Quarter. The incident occurred Saturday at 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Saint Louis Street.

According to police, the victims said that they were walking in the block when three unknown black men approached them from behind and began punching them. Once the victims fell to the ground, the suspects took their cash, a wallet and a smart phone prior to fleeing the scene.

Detectives later learned that the victim's cell phone was used by two men to post pictures on social media. Police say that the men identified themselves as members of "the Black Rag Mafia Gang" and that the names that they used were "Kyle" and "Geeno".

Police say that the two individuals are not suspects in the incident, but two men who police want to speak with concerning the incident.

If you have any information that could help police with this case, you are asked to call NOPD Eight District detectives at 504-658-6080 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 504-822-1111.
