Franklin: Humidity makes a return

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

It’s still pleasant outside to begin the day, but you are certainly able to feel the difference with moisture coming back in from the Gulf.

Dew points are back in the 60s compared to 50s on Sunday and likely 70s by Wednesday. We're not expecting much in the way of rain, with only about 10-20 percent coverage starting Wednesday and lasting through the weekend. Highs will climb into the upper 80s and then near 90 degrees for the weekend.

In the tropics, an area in the SW Gulf is looking less organized. The NHC is only giving it a 10 percent chance for development before moving inland over Mexico and computer models are hinting at a disturbance developing in the eastern Gulf.

It’s still too soon to know anything for sure, but with a ridge building in over the southern United States, this feature would likely move westward across the Gulf toward Texas. We'll keep an eye on it.
