NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Tulane ranks No. 4 on Playboy’s list of top party schools in the nation.

The magazine released its 2015 ranking on Monday. The list will be featured in the magazine’s October issue.

Ohio University took the number one spot, followed by University of Iowa and Florida State University.

Tulane comes in at No. 4 largely to its off-campus party scene, according to the magazine.

If anybody knows how to party, it’s the city of New Orleans. When most colleges are cracking down, Tulane continues to rise above the rest. Why? Because it has a 140-year-old off-campus party that’s still thriving, and we don’t see any signs that it’s slowing down. We’re talking about Mardi Gras, but even in the off-season, you’ll find spirited students strolling the French Quarter, where a notorious open-container policy allows shenanigans to happen year-round. And to that we say, laissez les bons temps rouler.

The 2015 list was determined by the magazine’s editors who considered a variety of factors in their selection process, including access to nightlife and musical events, and creativity when planning social gatherings.  A reader’s poll and feedback from Playboy’s fans were also considered, along with information from the National Center for Education Statistics, the NCAA, and the US Economic Census.
