The painted faces, prized coconut throws and every other unique trait connected to the Krewe of Zulu could soon be trademarked.

The Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Inc. is holding a press conference Thursday afternoon for a special “trademark” announcement. Zulu said they will take legal action against the unauthorized use of the Zulu name.

The Krewe states they will use all means necessary to protect its name.

A press conference will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Zulu Headquarters, located at 732 N. Broad Street.
