MIAMI (AP) - A tropical depression is expected to get weaker as it moves over the Atlantic.

The depression's maximum sustained winds early Friday are near 30 mph (45 kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the depression is forecast to weaken to a remnant low later in the day or Friday night.

The depression is centered about 1,045 miles (1,680 kilometers) east of the Lesser Antilles and is moving north-northwest near 7 mph (11 kph).
