NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Federal prosecutors bring charges against three New Orleans area postal workers accused of stealing mail.
In the first case, a four-count indictment accuses Anisha Gallin, 27, of stealing the contents of four first-class letters.
A separate Federal indictment charges O'Neil Edwards, 27, of stealing two $100 gift cards from mail sent from Las Vegas to Belle Chasse.
27-year-old Joshua Gresham is accused in a three-count bill of information which alleges he took $370 in cash from three greeting cards while on his postal route.
If convicted, each defendant faces a maximum of five years in prison followed by three years of supervised release, a maximum fine of $250,000, and restitution.
According to a news release from U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite, the case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General.
