THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - Troopers assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, in a joint effort with the Department of Homeland Security, seized 15.6 kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $468,000 in Thibodaux.
The bust happened on September 18 after investigators made contact with an airplane flying out of Brownsville, TX that was landing at the Thibodaux Municipal Airport in Terrebonne Parish.
Troopers and agents met the airplane as it landed at the airport and then spoke to the pilot, 29-year-old John Crow of Brownsville, TX.
Investigators say Crow was extremely nervous during the encounter and granted consent to search the airplane.
Troopers and agents found 15.6 kilograms of cocaine inside Crow's luggage, and $2090 in cash in Crow's possession.
He faces charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and transactions involving drug proceeds.
Crow was arrested and booked at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. State Police Detectives also seized the currency and airplane in Crow's possession.
