Report: Brees could miss games with shoulder injury Report: Brees could miss games with shoulder injury

Saints quarterback Drew Brees is likely to miss games with a shoulder injury, according to the NFL Network's Ian Rapaport. The report said Brees has shoulder injury that will likely cause him to miss games, potentially several games.

Brees appeared to suffer the injury in the second quarter when his arm was hit by Tampa Bay's Jack Smith. On Monday, head coach Sean Payton said it was too early to speculate on his playing status.

"I think it is early right now. Today is the day after," Payton said. "We’ll take a peek and see how he is feeling, how he is coming along and see where we are on Wednesday. Certainly we’ll do the best thing for him and for where he is at. I think it is early to say that.”

If he were to miss any games, it would be the first time in his career in New Orleans that he would have to miss a game due to injury.
