NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood Company will open a new location in New Orleans East.

The locally owned restaurant group announced plans for the restaurant at the corner of Bullard and Interstate 10.

"After 30 years of if, it was only a matter of when," said Paul McGoey, CEO & Managing Partner. "We waited until we felt like we got the best spot in the community and we feel like this is it. We're super duper excited to be here."

The company hopes to be ready to open in March of 2016.

"There are going to be lives changed because not only are they going to have great dining options but there are going to be jobs created," said Quentin Messer, Jr., President and CEO of the New Orleans Business Alliance.

McGoey says they expect to hire about 65 employees, mostly from New Orleans East and the surrounding neighborhood.

Work will begin immediately to transform the existing building for the new use.

New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood, Co. already has 12 restaurants. But, McGoey says, "this could be the most exciting opening we've had in over 30 years."
