NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A 38-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly spanked a woman on Canal Street, according to our partners at Nola.com/The Times Picayune.

Christopher Flowers, 38, was arrested on Wednesday. He’s suspected of spanking a woman in the 700 block of Canal Street, between Royal and Bourbon streets.

The unidentified woman told police she was walking past a group of men when Flowers “complimented” her, Nola.com reports. As she walked away from the men, the victim alleges Flowers followed her and “smacked her on the butt.”

"You know you liked it," Flowers allegedly retorted after the victim confronted him.

Proving she did not like it, Nola.com reports that the victim called police. Detectives said flowers admitted to spanking the victim, but claimed self-defense.

The paper reports:

Mr. Flowers stated he was walking on Canal Street when he noticed he was being 'stalked' by an unknown female," the detective wrote in her report. "Mr. Flowers stated he confronted the female who was following him and stated, 'Why are you following me? You better stop it.’ Flowers stated the female continued to walk behind him, and that is when he elected to smack her on the butt."
