ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A combative father was arrested and his 3-month-old baby was removed from a volatile situation Wednesday by deputies responding to a fight at a Covington-area home, according to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.
Shortly before 9:30 a.m., deputies responded to 911 calls reporting several people arguing at a home on Fern Street. The caller said that a man who lived at the home left armed with two guns after pointing one of them at another person in the home.
Responding deputies found the man, 20-year-old Romello Brown, walking down the street. Brown was no longer carrying the weapons, but was very agitated and was carrying his 3-month-old son, according to the Sheriff's Office.
After Brown failed to comply with repeated commands from deputies to stop, one deputy was able to grab the infant from his arms while another deputy used his Taser to subdue Brown.
Brown was taken into custody and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on the following charges: aggravated assault with a firearm, simple assault, resisting an officer, resisting an officer with force or violence, child desertion and contempt of court.
