Man loses wallet, $800 cash during French Quarter groping

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The NOPD is asking for the public’s help in locating and identifying a suspect wanted for theft in the French Quarter.

 The incident took place Sept. 11 at the intersection of Bourbon and Conti streets.     

Police said at 1:10 a.m., the suspect, a transgender female, approached the victim and began groping him, rubbing her hands over his body. The suspect then left and got into a taxi. When the victim checked for his property, he discovered that his wallet and $800.00 in cash was missing.      

Eighth District Detectives are investigating the incident and can be contacted at (504) 658-6080. 

Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.  You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500 for the information leading only to the arrest, except on homicides, where Crimestoppers will pay half of the reward upon the arrest and half on the indictment of the responsible person(s).  You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward but you must contact Crimestoppers directly with your information.
