We are watching the Gulf of Mexico as a low pressure system in the south and an upper low near Texas will bring us a more tropical flow and more moisture in the next few days. The National Hurricane Center has increased chances to 40% that this low near the Yucatan system could develop.
With continued upper wind shear, the system would likely not have much of a chance to strengthen. However, it will likely bring us numerous showers and thundershowers from Sunday afternoon through Monday and Tuesday.
Some of these showers could be heavy downpours and winds will be breezy from the East through the period. The National Hurricane Center may send an Air Force Reconnaissance aircraft into the southern Gulf tomorrow, if necessary. We will keep you posted!
