FRANKLINTON, LA (WVUE) - A 52-year-old man dies after being pulled from a Franklinton home damaged by an early-morning fire.

Fire officials say that firefighters got a call for a fire at 3:30 a.m. in the 2700 block of Greenlaw Avenue. Responding crews arrived and entered the burning home. They quickly extinguished the fire which was burning on a living room sofa. Crews searched for victims and found the unresponsive body of a man, later identified as Terry Dyson, in the kitchen. He was rushed to a local hospital but suffered an apparent cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead by hospital officials, according to the spokesperson

Fire investigators determined that the fire started near the sofa and caused moderate damage to the home. Crews are working to determine the exact cause of the fire. An autopsy will be performed Monday on Dyson to find an exact cause of death.
